Visiting Arab Health 2018 (Dubai)

Ortho Baltic Implants team was glad to visit the largest medical exhibition and conference in the Middle East – Arab Health, from Jan 29th to Feb 2nd, 2018 in Dubai. We have been selected by European Commission to represent the most innovative European SMEs at the European Union (EU) Pavillion. The EU Pavilion at Arab Health was inaugurated by Mrs. Taina Sateri, Trade Conselor at the European Union Delegation to the UAE and Mrs. Anna Bulzacka Bogucka, representative of the Executive Agency for SMEs (European Commission). The European Pavilion hosted total of 15 cutting-edge European healthcare innovators brought to Arab Health under the EIC SME Instrument – Overseas Trade Fair (OTF) Programme, funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020.

Arab Health 2018 officially opened January 29th, with the visit of H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Minister of Finance and Industry of the UAE to the first ever European Pavilion at the trade fair.

Ortho Baltic Implants exhibited 3D printed patient-specific implants and surgical guides, also ICT solutions for effective management of patient-specific implants design, manufacture and validation processes. Furthermore, on the first day of Arab Health, a Lithuania’s esteemed maxillary surgeon Dr. Stasys Bojarskas (Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinics, Clinic of Maxillofacial Surgery) did the presentation in “3D medical printing” conference on a clinical case that Ortho Baltic Implants had helped to solve by providing pre-surgical planning tools and designing & manufacturing patient-specific temporomandibular joint endoprosthesis for a young patient suffering from mandibular condyle tumor. Patient-specific implant was accompanied with single-use surgical guides for accurate tumor resection and implant positioning.
