Ortho Baltic is part of the international I AM RRI innovation project

Ortho Baltic is implementing project No. 788361 “Web of innovation and value chains of additive manufacturing under consideration of RRI (I AM RRI)“ in accordance with implementation measure “H2020-SwafS-2017-1”.

Additive manufacturing (AM) is a key enabling technology in high value manufacturing. The global AM market is on the rise and in 2016 the industry was valued at $6 billion with 93% being attributed to industrial applications. Evolving novel innovation networks, perfectly represented by the emerging, rather complex and highly dynamic AM industry sector, are frequently characterized by entirely new business models, high development and adaption rates, as well as strong technology diffusion within the economy.

During the implementation of the project Ortho Baltic together with partners investigate the AM innovation network in order to facilitate a better understanding and the modelling of the dynamics of its complex web of innovation value chains including openings for responsible research and innovation (RRI).

Also, in-depth investigation of the AM innovation network allow to establish a comprehensive knowledge base and thorough understanding of the network’s components, processes and interconnections, forming the foundation for building a dynamic model. What is more, the participants of the project provide good practice guidelines for future activities in AM field.

The total value of the project No. 788361 “Web of innovation and value chains of additive manufacturing under consideration of RRI (I AM RRI)“ is 2.995 million euro. Project implementation period: 01/05/2018-30/04/2021.
