On May 19th – 21st, in Mainz, Germany, Ortho Baltic team has participated in the international conference and exhibition “3D MED – 2nd International Conference on 3D Printing in Medicine”. This year the main focus was on innovative deployment options for the 3D printing process in medicine. Already, 3D printing is being applied in so much of medical disciplines – surgeons of orthopaedics, neurosurgeons, ophthalmologists, vascular surgeons, cranio-maxillofacial surgeons, odontologists, osteologists are now using individually adapted 3D implants.
Scientists, researchers, surgeons, medical device manufacturers, and suppliers of 3D printing equipment gathered in the conference to share their new findings, developments and make cross-disciplinary dialogue in order to start collaboration for further achievements. Ortho Baltic participated in the conference with a booth in exhibition hall and with the oral presentation “Peculiarities of patient-specific TMJ endoprosthesis design and manufacturing validation”, which was held by our clinical engineer Milda Jokymaitytė. With the presentation we highlighted the importance of surgeon’s and manufacturer’s roles and the distribution of responsibilities when creating a patient-specific TMJ endoprosthesis. More about our temporomandibular joint endoprosthesis you can find here.
Thank you all who visited Ortho Baltic’s booth and listened our presentation. We hope the 3D MED will grow bigger next year and will have more exhibitors and bigger variety of visitors, as well as speakers.
